Week of March 13-19, 2016

Connect Four!

The weather was nice enough to allow us some extra playground time after school this week.

Final weeks of indoor ball (and these boys are anxious to get outside).

Bracket Time! Serious competition in our house (as usual).

Fourth grade fun.

Clowning around at church.

Celebrating Papa, Caleb, and Will (with Lucas enjoying the view)!
Looking back: 2015  2014  2012

Week of March 6-12, 2016

"Introducing, Josh VanderLugt!"
(Because one of the best part of playing is introducing the starting lineup...)

One of these boys either A) has a brain freeze, B) just scheduled his oral surgery, or C) both A & B.
Answer: C

 Loving the blue sky!

Cal is not so sure about his new uniform.

The weather was nice enough to pull the boat out of storage and give Josh a chance to hook his first musky. The big fish didn't quite make it in the boat, but made it made for a successful first day out!

A special date night with Mom with the agenda planned by Cal:
bookstore, pizza, and basketball.

Ashley shared her baking expertise with Levi.

Week of Feb. 28-March 5, 2016

Trying Daddy's birthday present (a musky bump board).

 Levi and his snow buddy.

"Mom, I'm an artist."

A blustery March snow day = lots of Lego time.

A little something to brighten up the winter days.

Laughter and reminiscing with the HHS girls.

Josh made his debut as a pancake chef.

Week of Feb. 21-27, 2016

We get to host the junior and senior youth group boys and their leaders once a month. Our boys love hanging out with the big boys!

This kid makes his nutritionist aunt proud!

His four year-old check-up included four shots and no tears for this tough guy.

Last Upward games this week. The boys loved having their Dad as coach.

Happy birthday, Daddy!

A good night with good friends.
Celebrating birthdays and the end of another Upward season for these coaches (and moms battling on the sidelines).

Week of Feb. 14-20, 2016

One of my favorite Valentines.

Chocolate wisdom.

Kitchen therapy.

A broken boiler at school earns this two an unexpected day off. (And this photo guarantees some extra credit points.)

Stuck inside a locker near you...

The older boys were invited to play with friends, and Rewski scored a date with just mom and dad.

Enjoying a heat wave -- 50 degrees in February!

Week of Feb. 7-13, 2016

Super Bowl Tradition.

Winter Break = request to bowl, of course!

Cool dude showing off his haircut and Dollar Store find.

We pulled Daddy away from work long enough to enjoy a little Pizza Ranch.

I don't want to forget listening to Levi read this one to me. "Arse cream" and "pup cakes."

Friday night fun with friends.

A little Wits and Wagers with the Schuitemans...the big kids got in on the games for the first time ever.

Week of Jan. 31-Feb. 6, 2016

Caleb's sermon notes...the best part of doing laundry this week.

Poor Joshie got knocked in the head on the playground. Scary day of concussions and Cat Scans.

Home with Josh for a day -- he's feeling much better!

 Caleb's Valentine Box.

Somebody's pretty thankful for his basketball coach.

Upward stars.

So many memories around this table.

Week of January 24-30, 2016

Levi loves when Josh does the bedtime reading.

 Light sabre battles abound lately.

Silly boys & after dinner ice cream.

I love this age and watching the kids take off as readers.

Girls Weekend in Chicago.
Little did we know this would be our only night all together, as Amy and Mom had to rush home to poor Lucas, who ended up breaking his leg on Saturday.

Heading out on the town!

The boys had lots of fun without me -- basketball, Star Wars movie, Branns and more.
